Mother Blessings
What is a Mother Blessing?
Inspired by the traditional Navajo ceremony named a Blessing way, Mother Blessings have regained popularity in recent years as a way of celebrating the pregnant mother as she comes into her new self. Unlike a baby shower, which focuses the ceremony around the unborn baby, a Mother Blessing focuses on uplifting, supporting, and showering love onto the mother. Whether this is your first pregnancy or not, a Mother Blessing is a beautiful ceremony that allows for you to prepare your mind, body, and spirit to grow into its next phase of life: motherhood.
What to expect?
My Mother Blessings run for approximately 3 hours. The ceremony is focused on connection and uniting our strengths to support the Mother through her journey. This may include:
A fear removal exercise for all attending
Guests will each in turn uplift the Mother using their personal connection to her
Rose oil (conduit of love and female empowerment) applied over the Heart Chakra
Foot bath for the Mother
Body Painting for the Mother
Hair braiding and palm massage for the Mother
Red (symbol of strength, love and courage) yarn intertwined and connecting the Mother and her guests
Individual candles gifted to all attending
Guests can each pick a crystal linked to birth, post-partum, strength or love to gift to the Mother
Is it customisable?
Of course! You can change anything you want and add or remove anything based off of your preferences or belief systems.
